Broken Wings Oct 03, 2007

What better way to heal old wounds
Than to write the pain away
Like how raindrops wash the grime and dust
Leaving cleansed freshness post downpour
Let the lyrical string of words and letters
Soothe like balm and calm the soul
Hurts in the past, leave them behind
Look to the present and the future
Emancipated and free
Let the wind give flight again
To once broken wings

I sometimes wonder if when one writes the pain away(like the way you write your poems), is one is just re-enforcing that pain and clinging on to the past creating a viscious cycle of depair and losing the simple smileys of the present. Maybe depair spurs creativity and that substitutes depair in real life. I don't know, maybe you're right. Beautiful words though. Nice poem!

You aren't the first to say this about clinging to the past.

I see it as my current state - constantly in a battle with myself because I know there's smiles abound to be found.

I don't miss the smiles even now, but I do long to shed a lot of from my past that is yet to be finished business and in the unfinished state, I am frustrated.

In my writing I do suppose I seem a rather bleak person (no prizes for that guess), hence I must be an amazing actress for more often than not people remember my smile :)

Strange paradoxical world :)

Thanks again M for sharing your comments - much appreciated.

Do take my comments as a pinch as salt thought. One realises that one can't spell despair when one is smashed...:-)

p/s: Think all of us are in a battle with ourselves but we take it out on ManU.(TM)! Think your problems stem from the fact that you support a crap team...:-) hahaha...now i know i'm gonna crash out for sure!
p/s: write a happy poem for goodness sake!

Oh I will write a happy poem, every time your team loses :) - how's that?

You Are Welcomed Warmly

I see you've found yourself suddenly here amidst the poetic scribbles of my rambling mind often incoherent to the general you and only understood by myself.

If you find that my words have touched you, then indeed my journey of words has met its objective ... I wish to be able to let you the unknown reader experience my rollercoaster existence with the stringing of words.

It is my sincere hope that you will come many times again and leave your comments and feedback for I am only a writer here in the anonymity of the internet, harbouring a burning desire to someday hold my words bound within pages in the bookstores of the world ...

Perhaps dreams keeps us going - I intend to try perhaps to turn mine into some reality .. thank you for stopping by...
